Job Description Job Description Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1 year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Support hard of hearing students in an elementary educational setting as a Sign Language Interpreter in Fort Myers, FL. This full-time, on-site role involves working closely with students enrolled in the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) program, providing 1:1 interpreting support that facilitates effective communication and learning. Responsibilities: Provide skilled sign language interpretation for hard of hearing students during classroom instruction and related activities Facilitate clear communication between students, teachers, and support staff within the DHH program Adapt interpreting methods to meet individual student needs to enhance engagement and comprehension Collaborate with educational professionals to support student success and inclusion Qualifications: Valid EIPA score of 3.0 or higher is required Experience working with children in educational settings preferred Ability to complete fingerprinting clearance or have current clearance accessible through the AHCA Clearinghouse JLA badge acquisition or transfer from other Florida districts is necessary for onsite entry Job Details: Location: Fort Myers, FL Assignment: Allen Park Elementary School Schedule: Full-time, up to 37.5 hours per week Duration: Immediate start through June 1, 2026 Position is on-site only with no virtual opportunities This role provides the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the educational experience of students who are hard of hearing.
