Job Description Job Description Salary: Position Overview: We are seeking a knowledgeable and dependable Technical Director to support our school theater program. This part-time position (1520 hours per week) oversees the technical elements of school productions and events, working closely with the theater director, students, and faculty to ensure high-quality performances in a safe and organized environment. Key Responsibilities: Oversee all technical aspects of school theater productions (lighting, sound, set construction, rigging, and stage management support) Design and execute lighting and sound plans for performances Supervise and mentor students involved in technical theater Coordinate setup, rehearsals, performances, and strike Maintain theater equipment, tools, and inventory Ensure compliance with safety standards and proper use of equipment Assist with other school events requiring auditorium technical support Qualifications: Experience in technical theater (lighting, sound, stagecraft, and set construction) Ability to teach and supervise middle and/or high school students Strong organizational and troubleshooting skills Knowledge of theater safety practices Ability to lift equipment and work flexible hours, including evenings during production weeks Compensation: Competitive hourly rate based on experience.
