Job Description:
Job Description Summary: This position impacts the patient---s
overall experience at GCH. The receptionist is responsible for
scheduling appointments and providing front desk coverage for
patient satisfaction by preparing patient files, collecting
insurance information, and discharging patients after their
appointments. Duties and Responsibilities: Maintains professional
and congenial attitude towards patients. Answers the telephone,
receives and transmits messages. Assures the readiness of the
reception area for each working day; opens the building at the
designated time and have all front desk activities fully
operational at the start of business hours. Assists patients in
accurately completing appropriate forms and document all
information according to agency protocols. Registers patients
according to agency protocols. Schedules appointments, records and
reports cancellations and no---shows, and confirms appointments.
Offers and maintains sliding payment scale to patients Collects
fees from patients. Prepares and balances the daily financial
registers. Maintain daily patient encounter activities. Responsible
for office cash supply. Performs data entry and other patient
information system functions. Maintains inventory of office
supplies. Copies patient information when needed. Secures the
building at the close of each working day according to agency
protocols. Participates in all staff and educational meetings.
Works collaboratively with interdisciplinary team to implement the
Patient Centered Medical Home model May be required to perform
duties and responsibilities not listed in this description on a
temporary or long---term basis.
