Job Description:The Shipping Specialist is responsible for packaging instruments, parts orders, instructions and all other outgoing mail in a safe, accurate and organized manner. Primary Responsibilities:Responsible for packaging outgoing shipments, processing courier shipments and running company errands as needed Maintaining and organizing the necessary shipping suppliesPaying careful attention to detail and accuracy Managing multiple packages at one timeResponsible for keeping the shipping area clean and organized Following company policies, procedures and safety regulations All other duties as assignedSkills and QualificationsAccountability: Takes responsibility for all work activities and personal actions, follows through on commitments, and acknowledges and learns from mistakesCommunication: Provides clear instruction to employees, clearly explains how product or process works, and is available to answer any questions that may arise Integrity: Behaves honorably even when no one is watching and follows moral and ethical principles in all areas of work including decision making, interacting with colleagues, and servicing customersProblem Solving: Ability to effectively identify challenging or complex issues, evaluate options, and resolve in the best interest of the organizationQuality of Work: Works to the highest of quality standards by anticipating problems, testing and checking their work, and pays close attention to detail Self-Starter: Uses trusted and efficient work methods to launch projects and balances multiple projects in a fast-paced environmentTime Management: Ability to deliver on time with optimal use of resources, achieve desired results within given time frames and decide between conflicting prioritiesEducation and ExperienceMust have a high school diploma or GEDMinimum 1-2 years of experience in domestic and/or international shippingFamiliar with safety procedures and warehouse equipment Must have basic computer knowledgeMust have an excellent work ethic, and strong verbal and written communication skills Must be able to work with temperature fluctuations and occasional dustMust be able to handle heavy workloadsClean driver's license Required to use pallet jacks and simple hand toolsExperienced working with LTL (Truck), DHL, FedEx and UPS shipments SAP knowledge is a plus but not obligatoryExtended sitting, standing and heavy lifting will be required for this position Supervision Exercised This role is an independent contributor who is a member of multiple teams and does not have any direct supervision of staff. Physical Requirements & Working ConditionsWhile performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, observe, communicate and handle items such as computers, machinery and other equipment. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.In regards to organizational issues, the employee will comply with the regulations set forward in the Anton Paar Employee Handbook, except if otherwise stated.
