Job Description:
The Quality Test Technician is responsible for the validation
and qualification of scientific instruments as part of our
production process. The Quality Test Technician is responsible
for:Effectively and accurately performing verifications and
measurements on our instruments after they are assembled, and
ensuring they are at the necessary quality level to ship to our
customers.Diagnosing and troubleshooting the mechanical and
electrical systems if quality issues arise. Communicating the
status of all instruments in production to the appropriate Team
LeadersExecuting the Quality Assurance Process laid out for each
product and verifying that any results are within the needed
specifications.Performing in-line quality inspections at various
checkpoints during the Assembly Process of their product
lines.Administering final approval on all instruments coming off
the production line. This includes data measurements and analyses,
cosmetic inspections, verifying all parts shipping with the
instrument, and other aspects of the instrument quality. Roles and
ResponsibilitiesThe Quality Test Technician is detailed and
motivated and takes pride in being the final approvals before our
instruments go to their customers. They balance multiple priorities
and are able to learn all aspects of the products they are testing.
They are process driven and able to contribute with technical and
process improvements for our production team. Job duties
include:Qualifying the instruments on their assigned product line
to ensure they meet all design specificationsCompleting mechanical
and electrical assembly operations when assignedPerforming
in-process inspections at checkpoints during the assembly
processInvestigating and resolving quality issues on their assigned
product lineCommunicating the status and timelines of the
instruments being tested to their Team LeaderCompleting any
production orders assigned in a timely mannerParticipating in daily
production team meetingsStrictly following documented quality
assurance procedures and recording needed data on digital
formsTracking and recording labor hours spent on production
ordersTroubleshooting both the electrical and mechanical systems of
the instrument as neededWorking closely with cross-disciplinary
teams to solve product problemsAll other duties as assigned Skills
and QualificationsThe Quality Test Technician uses a variety of
technical skills and soft skills to assemble and qualify
instruments, including:Detail Oriented: Must be able to follow
detailed procedures, record exact data in controlled forms, and
perform inspections.Accountability: Effectively completes tasks on
time with minimal supervision, sets realistic goals and follows
through on commitmentsCritical Thinking: Performs analysis to help
diagnose and resolve issues encountered during the production
processCollaboration: Working well with others on internal teams by
using effective interpersonal skills Communication: Providing clear
feedback and timelines to the Team Leaders to ensure production

watching and follows moral and ethical principles in all areas of

standards by anticipating problems, testing and checking their
work, and paying close attention to detail on both the instruments

knowledge and skills, and develops solutions to highly complex
problems by applying technical acumenWorking knowledge of
electrical components and their usage in electrical circuitsAbility
to read and understand assembly drawings and schematics Ability to
use hand tools and small power toolsAbility to troubleshoot to the
component levelEducation and ExperienceThe Quality Test Technician
typically need a combination of education, experience, and
technical skills. This role requires the following:AA Degree in
Technical Field or 3-5 years of electrical or mechanical
experienceProven ability to follow detailed work instructions,
standard operating procedures (SOPs), and testing proceduresWorking
knowledge of electrical components and their usage in electrical
circuitsAbility to read and understand assembly drawings and
schematics Ability to use hand tools and small power toolsAbility
to troubleshoot to the component levelPreferred skills include:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
Supervision Exercised This role is an independent contributor who
is a member of multiple teams, and does not have any direct
supervision of staff. Physical Requirements & Working
ConditionsWhile performing the duties of this position, the
employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, observe,
communicate and handle items such as computers, machinery and other
equipment. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20
pounds. Position requires the ability to obtain a Passport for
international travel. In regards to organizational issues, the
