An opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) with a strong background in step-down care to fill a floating position supporting Progressive Care Unit (PCU) patients. This contract role is based in the Fort Myers, FL area and requires flexibility to float across sister hospital campuses within a 50-mile radius. Candidates will provide care primarily for adult and geriatric patients with a ratio of approximately 4-6 patients depending on acuity. Key Qualifications: Minimum 2 years of PCU experience (Emergency Department experience not required) Active Florida or Compact nursing license with up-to-date verification Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications Proven ability to adapt and float between multiple units and campuses as needed Degree accreditation on profile or a minimum of 5 years nursing experience Experience using Epic Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system Responsibilities: Deliver high-quality nursing care to step-down patients in accordance with facility protocols and standards Maintain patient safety and comfort, monitoring vital signs and responding to changes promptly Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement care plans and ensure continuity Support sister campuses by floating when required, ensuring seamless nursing coverage Document patient care accurately using the Epic system and comply with all regulatory requirements Location Highlights:Fort Myers offers a vibrant community with beautiful beaches, parks, and an inviting warm climate perfect for outdoor activities year-round.
