Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a Sr. Principal
Responsible Engineer – Fuel Systems with experience in aircraft
fuel subsystems development to join our team of qualified, diverse
individuals in defining the future. This position will be located
in Melbourne, FL. This position is fully onsite with no remote work
available. Key responsibilities may include: Performing responsible
engineer activities, which include all aspects of fuel
subsystem/component design and development including trade studies,
layouts, architecture definition, system test & verification, and
troubleshooting. These activities may also include participating on
a subcontractor management team and will act as the technical point
of contact with suppliers for hardware development, qualification,
and procurement. Performing system related analysis, such as
performance simulation, in support of the development of the fuel
subsystem including integration with other aircraft subsystems.
System level test planning, execution support, verification, data
processing, and troubleshooting. System level evaluations to verify
requirements and ensure airworthiness criteria are met. Attending
internal program, customer, and/or supplier technical exchange
meetings and/or formal program milestone reviews to provide and/or
obtain progress status updates. Selected candidates should thrive
in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations,
significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings
across all levels. Candidates must be self-starters capable of
flourishing in an environment under general/consultative directions
and be a mentor/coach for junior engineers. In person mentoring
with junior engineers is expected. Basic Qualifications: Sr.
Principal Responsible Engineer - Bachelor of Science degree in a
STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline
AND 8 years of relevant experience; OR Master’s degree in STEM AND
6 years of relevant experience; OR a PhD in STEM AND 4 years of
relevant experience. Your ability to obtain and/or transfer and
maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance, and any
program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable
period of time, as determined by the company. Must have
professional experience related to the development and integration
of fuel subsystems or components in commercial or military aircraft
applications. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in
mechanical or aerospace engineering with focus on thermodynamic,
fluid mechanic and/or heat transfer disciplines Experience with
aircraft subsystem development, with requirements definition,
specification development, component analysis, procurement, source
selection, integration and test and verification for advance
aircraft. Experience performing thermodynamic, fluid mechanic
and/or heat transfer analysis related to military/commercial
aircraft and subsystems Experience modeling fluid systems utilizing
Amesim, MATLAB/Simulink, Thermal Desktop, Flomaster, and/or
STAR-CCM software Familiarity with NX CAD software and Teamcenter
PLM Experience with the military airworthiness certification
process using MIL-HDBK-516. Familiarity with fuel systems aircraft
installation per MIL-F-17874. Experience interpreting component
detail drawings, specifications, installation drawings, and test
procedures Experience in supporting pursuits and proposals,
including generating, reviewing, and approving technical proposals
and BOEs Demonstrated experience in leadership related to
integrated product teams, including supplier and customer (internal
and external) relations Demonstrated participation in mentoring
activities. AS-FA3 Primary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 -
$184,200.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline;
however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when
determining base salary offers such as the scope and
responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience,
education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the
position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift
differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as
well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in
Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term
Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of

insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off
