(ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1
year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings.
Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be
considered. This full-time opportunity is for two experienced Sign
Language Interpreters (SLI) located in Cape Coral, FL, supporting
1:1 hard of hearing students within a Deaf and Hard of Hearing
(DHH) program at a local elementary school. The assignment begins
ASAP and runs through June 1, 2026, with up to 37.5 hours per week
on-site required. Responsibilities: Provide high-quality sign
language interpreting services for students, facilitating
communication between hard of hearing students and educators.
Support individualized learning needs within the DHH program at the
elementary school level. Collaborate closely with teachers and
support staff to ensure students full access to curriculum and
classroom activities. Maintain professional standards and
confidentiality in all communications and interactions. Comply with
school district policies and complete required credentialing
processes prior to starting. Qualifications: Valid EIPA
(Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score of 3.0 or
higher. Proven experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter,
preferably in educational settings. Familiarity with interpreting
for children and knowledge of Deaf culture is highly desirable.
Must complete fingerprinting through the AHCA Clearinghouse or
provide verification of valid prints from another Florida school
district. Ability to obtain or transfer a JLA badge for school
district access (may take up to 14 business days). Strong
communication and interpersonal skills to effectively support
students and staff. Location: On-site position at an elementary
school in Cape Coral, Florida. Travel is not required for this
